Cleaning & Prevention

Regular cleanings and dental checkups help keep your teeth and gums in optimal health; we recommend two of these routine visits each year for most patients. Regular dental cleanings with a dental hygienist removes plaque and tartar buildup helping prevent cavities, gum disease and bad breath. In a typical cleaning with your dental hygienist would scale your teeth, polish your teeth to lift staining, conduct a full mouth probe and a fluoride treatment.

A dentist will conduct a comprehensive dental exam of your teeth, gums, jaw and bite. Dental x-rays are recommended once a year to ensure the surfaces of your teeth and bone below the gumline are healthy. We also provide oral cancer screenings and periodontal Evaluations. Your oral health isn’t just about cavities – there is a link to serious systemic conditions like heart disease, diabetes and even Alzheimer’s  in people without optimal oral health. Inflammation and bacteria from gum disease can enter the bloodstream, affecting your entire body.
